Shooting Range Tips for Beginners & Firearms Safety Rules

Shooting Range Tips for Beginners  – Learn the basic principles of safe gun handling.

Many of Range, visitors are first-timers, for whom the activity is just a recreational activity.  With that in mind,  learning safe gun handling and the four basic principles of firearms safety:

  1. Treat the firearm as if its always loaded.
  2. Keep your finger off the trigger and outside the trigger guard.
  3. Point the firearm in the safe direction. In other words, only aim it at the target if you’re on the range’s firing line, and keep it holstered everywhere else.
  4. Always know what your target is and what’s behind it (i.e. backstop).

Remember these Shooting Range Tips for Beginners & Safety Rules:

Bring along an experienced friend.

Choose a larger firearm in a smaller calibre.

Don’t put your thumb on or behind the pistol slide.

Never wear loose collars or V-neck shirts.
