Shooting Range Tips for Beginners – Learn the basic principles of safe gun handling.
Many of Range, visitors are first-timers, for whom the activity is just a recreational activity. With that in mind, learning safe gun handling and the four basic principles of firearms safety:
- Treat the firearm as if its always loaded.
- Keep your finger off the trigger and outside the trigger guard.
- Point the firearm in the safe direction. In other words, only aim it at the target if you’re on the range’s firing line, and keep it holstered everywhere else.
- Always know what your target is and what’s behind it (i.e. backstop).
Remember these Shooting Range Tips for Beginners & Safety Rules:
Bring along an experienced friend.
Choose a larger firearm in a smaller calibre.
Don’t put your thumb on or behind the pistol slide.
Never wear loose collars or V-neck shirts.
