Custom Training Course PAL, CORE Hunting and Live-Fire
Custom Training Course PAL, CORE Hunting and Live-Fire
We have designed and delivered hundreds of customized courses to organizations, companies and governments around the country, serving a wide variety of sectors.
BC Firearms Academy (BCFA) delivers hands-on customized programs that meet the needs of our clients using examples, scenarios and approaches relevant to the specific client group needs. Whether your program is a succinct one-day course like a non-restricted PAL or an in-depth multi-day program including restricted firearms licensing and hunter education, whether offered in-person or online, the participants will be able to immediately apply their new safety skills. With years of experience, our instructors have likely worked with your sector before. Whether you need filed workers licensed for non-restricted firearms or shotgun live-fire courses at the range, you have armoured car employees that need Use of Force courses – we can build a course to meet your needs. You tell us what you need, and we will build the appropriate course package for you.
BC Firearms Academy Custom Course Design Process
When you request a custom BCFA course, our course designers (who are also experienced firearms and safety instructors) will make contact with you to design the right course for your goals and budget. We will then deliver that course at the appropriate time and place of your choosing.
Step 1- Consultation
We begin by consulting with you to identify your key goals for the training. We identify your anticipated participants, their learning objectives, the types of licensing or safety training they require, the challenges they encounter, the skills they need, and the context in which they operate. BCFA will work with you to clarify the elements desired in the training, the optimal duration and timing of the course, and any other relevant parameters.
Step 2- Design and Approval
Once we have completed our initial consultation, BCFA will draft a preliminary outline for your review. We take into consideration any budgetary or time constraints you may have. Based on your requests, we will then finalize the training content for final approval.
Our firearms instructors have worked as trainers and firearms instructors for years with diverse groups of professions and organizations. As a result, BCFA brings knowledge and expertise to the courses from a vast range of experiences and perspectives.
Where certification and licensing are required, BCFA will work with you to create a course design that meets both your own needs and any external and government accreditation requirements.
Step 3- Tailoring and Course Delivery
Prior to your workshop, BCFA provides a package of useful pre-course online materials for your group, including an email describing the courses and the training process. Our instructors use a facilitative approach that draws on the expertise, experience, and examples of the students in the course. BCFA uses scenarios relevant to your world and the challenges you face.
BCFA selects relevant reference material from our substantial library of drills, tools, and online training materials to provide your group with practical and informative materials to aid in their training. Our online courses include helpful flashcards, quizzes, tools and content related to the core lessons in the training session. BCFA can tailor these to your specific organization or profession.
Step 4- Evaluation and Follow Up
When the course ends, BCFA conducts a detailed course debrief which we use to make our courses even better for future deliveries.
BCFA also follow up with you and your participants according to your needs, to monitor and build on progress from the training. Such follow up can include delivery of more advanced training, refresher courses or annual qualifications.
