The Chief Firearms Officers of each province and territory is responsible for issuing ATCs.  The Armoured Car Guard Use of Force Online Study Guide is applicable only to individuals who wish to obtain an authorization to carry for work in the armed security industry and are not to be given any wider application.

We will discuss minimum standards to be achieved by participants in the use of force and firearm proficiency course. It is acknowledged by any other person using the Guidelines that the Guidelines are premised on the use of properly trained and qualified instructors to teach firearm proficiency and use of force, as outlined by federal and provincial legislation.

The Chief Firearms Officer of each province or territory is wholly responsible for the issuance of the authorization to carry.  While the Armoured Car Guard Use of Force Online Study Guide may be useful in assessing an applicant’s suitability to hold an authorization to carry, each case will be looked at individually prior to the issuance of the authorization to carry by the Chief Firearms Officer.
